Forskningsområder

I am a cancer researcher with a specific interest in cancer prevention and prediction. My work  focuses on cancer aetiology, through studying effects of environmental and genetics factors on cancer risk and progression. I use range of approaches in my work, from observational  epidemiological studies of risk factors, including case-control, population-based cohort studies,  twin studies, to meta-analysis and umbrella reviews, and multi-omics data analysis to study associations between environmental exposures, genetics, and intermediate phenotypes (biomarkers). The overarching aim of my work is to improve cancer prediction by understanding risk factors of cancer, improving cancer screening, and thus improving survival of cancer patient and cancer outcomes. My work is characterized by collaborative and international nature as reflected in my publication list.

Research Interests

  • Understanding genetics of cancer risk through multi-omic analysis.
  • Interdisciplinary Project on Adherance to Colorectal Cancer Screening. A short description of the project can be found here.
  • Meta-analysis and systematic literature review of factors associated with false-positive and false-negative FOBT results. The details of the study protocol and methods are published in PROSPERO (ID: CRD42022315767).
  • COlorectal Cancer screening Among RElatives (CoCARE): a twin-family study in Denmark.
