Forskningsinformation

Lars Henrik Frich is professor at the University of Southern Denmark and licensed shoulder and elbow surgeon at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Hospital Sønderjylland, Denmark. He is also highly experienced in performing reconstructive shoulder and elbow surgery.


In 2013, he became a clinical associate professor at the Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark and since 2021 clinical professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Dept. of Regional Health Research

He was president of the Danish Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery from 2010-2014.

From 2014-2021 he was appointed associate head of the Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark.

He has a published ∼60 papers on shoulder and elbow related topics, including the use of patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) to assess outcome after shoulder surgery. He has special interests in rotator cuff pathology and the effect of surgery on rotator cuff tendon and muscle healing. He is the principal investigator in a clinical study on disease mechanisms following rotator cuff tear, aimed at increasing the success rate of surgical repair. In parallel, he uses experimental animal models to study rotator cuff disease mechanisms and stem cell treatment on tendon and muscles in collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Medicine, SDU
