Forskningsområde

Human Factors, Psychology, Mental Health, Occupational Psychology, Occupational Health and Safety in the maritime industry.

Her research areas include ’sense-making processes’, psychological issues in interaction, intercultural communication, user-device interaction, learning processes, socio-cultural processes. 

Lisa was engaged in the INTEREG project, Northern Maritime University, working with blended module elements in Intercultural management, Human Factors and Leadership. In this project, she established a Danish Maritime Business Panel, where managers, CEO's and operators in the maritime industry were invited to a roundtable discussion about educations needs in the maritime industry anno 2020.

She has has worked in a project developing learning module for Corporate Social Responsibility at World Maritime University, and edited a book in the Springer Series on the same topic, to be used in the lecturing. She was Principal Investigator for the IFT- Seafarers Trust MARI-WEL project at The World Maritime University gathering more than 25 maritime experts around the world to deliver an elearning offering on social welfare and psycho-social topics relevant for professionals assisting seafarers. 

Lisa has also worked with psycho-social trauma for seafarers in connection with pirate hijackings, and interviewed the CEO at Clipper Group following the dire hijack of the CEC Future. She also wrote a book article on the topic.

Lisa has worked with anti-corruption in the maritime industry and was Prinicipal Investigator in a project that created a learning module on Anti-corruption and Intregrity issues, following sea passages on large container ships in high-risk areas. She worked together with an international researcher on a technical paper for the International Maritime Organisation, sponsored by a range of Member States. This paper called for action on training offerings to assist in mitigating corruption in the maritime industry.

Her later work has focused on psycho-social issues and mental health for seafarers, including Covid 19, stress management, Bullying and harassment and social isolation.
