Dr. Krishnendu Roy does research in the field of water electrolysis under external stimuli such as photo excitation and magnetic field. He is one of the researchers who have found that spin matters in water electrolysis. He is an expert in 2D and Quasi 2D material synthesis such as TMDs, MXenes and TMOs. He is also interested in Density Functional Theory. He has completed doctoral degree on September 2024 from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, India where he was also appointed as post-doctoral research associate till April, 2025. During his doctoral study, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo, Japan. Now he is employed as post-doc at Mads Clausen Institute, NanoSYD, SDU, Denmark from 1st May, 2025. He is from Kolkata, the science capital of India.
