Forskningsinteresser

Intelligence and national as well as international security have long formed the core of my research agenda. My work focuses on the ethical, technological, and democratic dimensions of security studies, with key contributions addressing intelligence ethics, digital policing, open-source intelligence, and counterespionage.

I actively engage with both theory and practice, and it is my ambition to draw on the productive interplay between the two—to cultivate insights that emerge from integrating practical security experience with robust theoretical frameworks.

I have served as Principal Investigator on several funded projects, including INTELHUB, supported by the Carlsberg Foundation. INTELHUB seeks to foster a Scandinavian research network on intelligence studies, emphasizing issues of public trust and legitimacy. For more information, visit: www.intelhub.dk.

From 2021 to 2023, I also led the project The Online Police Gaze, funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark. The project examined the evolving practices of online policing, recognizing the increasing need for police to operate effectively in digital environments in order to counter cybercrime and maintain public safety.

I thrive in interdisciplinary research environments that prioritize meaningful societal engagement. My academic journey has included roles as Senior Lecturer at University College Copenhagen (Emergency and Risk Management), Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen, Strategic Analyst with the Danish National Police, and PhD Fellow at the Section for Philosophy at UCPH.
