I am a PhD student with a focus on contemporary political history, intellectual history and the history of capitalism. 

My PhD dissertation investigates the development of the Danish shipping policy framework in the period from 1975 until 2010. Within this period, what could be called a 'space of exception' from normal industrial regulation was created for Danish shipping companies, most prominently through the enactment of the Danish International Ship Register in 1988 and the tonnage tax scheme in 2002. The dissertation covers the political processes which led to the enactment of these policies, specifically, and deals more broadly with other topics, such as the emergence of the concept of 'The blue Denmark', environmental regulation and the rise of the offshore economy in the maritime world.
