Digitally mediated social interaction

My research focuses on exploring ways in which digitally mediated social interaction can be understood, collected and analyzed. I have contributed to the field of Digital Conversation Analysis, that focuses on identifying features of digitally mediated interaction and how approaches to e.g. talk-in-interaction can be adapted to mediated settings. Empirically, my research focuses on chats in online dating, YouTube-videos, comments threads, discussion fora and newspaper discourse.  

LLMs for text classification, text generation etc.

The recent increase in accessibility and performance of LLMs has prompted me to explore data scraping, LLM-based text annotation and classification and customized LLM-model development in the contexts of journalism, social media and academic genres. For example, I am developing a machine learning model for news value classification using a BERT-based model that is fine-tuned on annotated data.  

Atypical interaction

My research also includes analysis of authentic, video-recorded professional interaction, including people with aphasia and people with dementia. In a current project, we are exploring how AI can support interaction with people with dementia and people with aphasia.
