Forskningsområde

Thomas Barnebeck Andersen is a professor at Department of Economics, with affiliations to both HEDG and the interdisciplinary Global Challenges to Rules-Based Order research cluster.

Thomas’ main areas of interest are broad macroeconomics (including long-run growth and development), comparative economics, and economic history. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in macroeconomics and economic growth & historical development. Thomas has published in prestigious journals such as Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, European Economic ReviewJournal of Development Economics, Journal of Economic Growth, Journal of Comparative Economics, World Bank Economic Review, and Energy Economics.

As well as his scholarly research, Thomas is also a regular contributor to economic policy debates both within Denmark and further afield. His work on the economic impact of European Union membership has been featured by the World Economic Forum, and he has written frequently for the Centre for European Policy Studies om macroeconomic issues. Thomas has also regularly been featured in leading newspapers in Denmark such as Politiken, Information, and Børsen.
