Forskningsinteresser

I am a social anthropologist specializing in borders, state-society relations, as well as the interactions between people and their environments. My research encompasses issues of identity, justice and security provision, citizenship, political animal geographies and state formation.

Through my work, I aim to deepen the understanding of socio-environmental systems and the processes shaping state and society interactions, with particular attention to how the presence, movement, and management of non-human lifeforms and environmental forces influence landscapes and politics. 

*This spring I published my first edited volume Fences and Biosecurity: The Politics of Governing Unruly Nature (OA) together with Michael Eilenberg (AU).* 

Right now I'm occupied with:
-Field research around Flensburg Fjord
-Writing and thinking about wet borderlands with Dorte J. Andersen
- A book chapter on Boar Hunting with Erica Von Essen
- A few different research proposals, revolving around an interest in how more-than-human actors (whether pigs, water or unexplained phenomena) interact with borders, spatial organization, and governance.
