My research effort is to help better understand the molecular mechanism of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). We are utilizing human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived sensory neurons that are being treated to induce CIPN. With this cell model, we are using a high throughput screen of a library of drugs to identify substances that may modulate CIPN. In the future, we will conduct mechanistic follow-up studies to better understand the underlying mechanisms of CIPN and the exacerbation or alleviation by the screening hits.
