Teaching principles:

In the last 25 years, teaching has changed a lot due to publishing of fantastic new textbooks and the availability of new web-based teaching possibilities. I am convinced that the main objective of non-bedside teaching in the lecture hall is to explain the central themes of the topic rather than to list pure facts. It is crucial to illustrate links between the facts and to help the students to consolidate their knowledge. The understanding of cross-talk and interaction between different systems is of overwhelming importance in neurology, where knowledge in neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, cell biology and physiology, biochemistry and psychology are all required to understand clinical neurology.
