It is expected that a MSc has broad theoretical and methodical knowledge within the science the field of study. The MSc must be able to understand and, on a scientific basis, reflect on the knowledge of the fields of study. The MSc must master the scientific methodologies and tools of the fields of study and be able to assess and select from among the scientific theories, methodologies and tools on a scientific basis. In the master’s thesis it is expected that he/she can demonstrate the ability to synthesize across disciplines, can create new knowledge and present the results in written and oral form. The master thesis preparation course prepares the student for the master’s thesis by training theoretical and methodical skills and enables the student to define, delimit, analyze, consider and solve a scientific problem and to document the result of it.The course is linked to the student's general understanding of science obtained at the master's program.
The competences obtained enable the student to independently write the master’s thesis.
