This course is designed primarily to assist students in acquiring a more thorough knowledge and proficiency in basic engineering mathematics. It includes a thorough coverage of complex numbers and functions, first and second order differential equations, linear algebra, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, vector differential calculus (including gradient, divergence and rotation), vector integral calculus (including line– and surface integrals), Gauss’ theorem and Stokes theorem.Each week begins with a clear description of the pertinent definitions, principles, and theorems, together with illustrative and descriptive material. This is followed by carefully graded sets of solved and supplementary problems. The supplementary exercises and assignments offer a complete review of the material of each week.
