1 Overall learning objectives
a) Understand maintenance management in general, maintenance strategies as well as maintenance systems
b) Gain hands-on knowledge and expertise on how to handle data from data gathering, data selection to data cleaning usage, and interpretation.
c) Being able to evaluate data quality
d) Learn about Industry 4.0 technologies and digitization

Knowledge of data handling including data storage, data processing, data
analysis, and interpretation

Be able to understand Industry 4.0 technologies and maintenance
management in general
Be able to use systems and tools for data management to gather, select,
clean, transform, and query data
Be able to select and apply appropriate tools for data analysis
Be able to organize, summarize, and visualize data and project outcomes for

5 Content
Digitalization is on a top position of companies’ agenda. We are living in the
digitalization age where sensors, machines, and other entities linked to the
internet produce massive amounts of data each day. But this is not the only source of data. For instance, social media or the Internet in general provide access to a variety of data, e.g., consumer preferences. Anyhow, companies are increasingly facing problems on how to use data. Starting from innovative digitization technologies, we focus on how to handle data effectively and efficiently to achieve knowledge gains. We focus on highly interesting areas within production such as maintenance and extend the view to other industries such as maritime shipping.
