Seminars were designed to help the students prepare their essay by sharing their bibliography, outline and main argument with the class so as to get peer feedback. The learning outcome were to gain new knowledge on the social, archaeological and economic structure of ancient cities, to acquire the ability to read the ancient material throughout the lens of modern theories and the competence of working diachronically comparing the different stages of urban development.
