The class was co-taught with Lars Boje Mortensen. The course was taught in both English and Danish and was addressed to students of the Classical Studies curriculum. 13 students attended the class, once a week, in three-hours lectures. The final exam consisted in an oral examination on two questions based on set texts previously read in class. The learning outcomes were: an elementary knowledge of selected subjects and methods within reception theory; an elementary knowledge of the history of ancient cultural heritage in the Western world; the ability to account for the use of the ancient cultural heritage in key periods/works/writings/media; the ability to analyze and interpret ancient and post-ancient works so as to put ancient works into perspective as well as the ability select and apply subject-specific and general theoretical methods and approaches to a broad subject area.
