After 24 February 2022, the word "tourism" evokes mixed emotions among Ukrainians. For many, travelling and holidays are still just a dream: for defenders at the front, volunteers, Ukrainians under occupation and those who have lost their homes. Yet in Ukraine, tourism as a phenomenon continues to exist and even develops, so it can be a resource for regeneration - both personal and national. Based on their own research and experience in international tourism studies, researchers Iana Bilynets from the University of Ljubljana and Kristof Tomej from the University of Southern Denmark analysed what is happening to Ukrainian tourism now and how it can contribute to the regeneration - for people and the country - even during the war.
