The power rating of solar panels, even within the same production batch, can vary some percent, due to production tolerances. This case study analyzes effect of the parameter variation on the overall power production of a large photovoltaic power plant during normal operation and estimate the theoretical advantage of sorting each panel into power groups before mounting.
