Research workshop on “Dealing with Uncertainty”

There is a fascination with the concept of uncertainty. It is difficult to grasp or explain, but it has been studied and analyzed across multiple disciplinary fields. The perception of uncertainty has an impact on the individual and firm-level decisions, and it is used to justify behavior (or the absence of it - inaction). The concept itself holds linkages with how we imagine the future and our understanding of time.
Submerged as we are in the digital transformation of society, we often do not know if the perception of uncertainty (Milliken 1987) is related to (1) understand the changes in particular elements of our environment, (2) predict how events or changes will impact us, (3) or about our ability to predict the consequence of our choices.
We believe on the generative potential of combining different disciplinary approaches on how we understand uncertainty and how we deal with it. The research workshop aims to provide a context where PhD students, junior, and senior researchers can share and constructively discuss insights on studies that connect and help to clarify the umbrella term of uncertainty.
