Beskrivelse

The research group Molecular Sensing Engineering works on determine the presence and function of specific molecules in many different contexts by exploiting the interaction between molecules and light.
This presentation will highlight some aspects related to this interaction. Furthermore, the talk will focus more specifically on the fabrication and characterization of various types of nanostructured metalic substrates with tailored plasmonic properties. This type of metallic substrate has the potential to enhance the molecular signal (fingerprint) many fold when used in Raman spectroscopy, also called Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy.
