Results from a study on specific places and analysing how and why these places correspond to motives and needs from selected groups of users in a Danish context. Methods are qualitative case studies using observation and interviews with focus groups. The study shows that physical surroundings, landscapes and outdoor facilities have different meanings to different groups in different settings
