We have used localised NMR spectroscopy to study transport of active pharmaceutical ingredients like ibuprofen alone or complexed with micelles or cyclodextrines through the water-octanol interface. The results make it possible to determine the permeability and distribution of the compounds as well as their diffusion coefficients.
