Syftet med projektet är att skapa en didaktisk modell som lärare i samhällskunskap kan använda när de
planerar nyhetsbevakning. Nyhetsbevakning är en vanlig aktivitet i samhällskunskap där lärare och elever först
tar del av nyheter och sedan samtalar om dem. Modellen ska hjälpa lärare att planera nyhetsbevakning för
att stärka deras elevers möjligheter att bättre förstå vilket politiskt ansvar som döljer sig bakom olika
nyhetsinslag. Det är en förståelse som är viktig för att som medborgare kunna ta ställning till politiska beslut och
hur de efterlevs. Modellen kommer att utvecklas genom ett samarbete mellan forskare och lärare på ett par
skolor. Tillsammans kommer de först att ta fram en modell som hänger ihop och är relevant för att kunna
planera nyhetsbevakning som kan utveckla elevers förståelse av politiskt ansvar. Modellen kommer sedan att
förfinas och göras mer robust och anpassningsbar genom att den används för konkret planering av
medverkande lärare med stöttning av forskarna. Denna planering omsätts i konkret undervisning för
att undersöka om modellen leder till att nyhtesbevakning kan genomföras med rimliga resurser samtidigt som
eleverna utvecklar en mer nyanserad och sammanhängande förståelse av politiskt ansvar. Inom ramen för
projektet undersöks också modellens överförbarhet för att den ska kunna användas mer brett av andra
samhällskunskapslärare utanför projketet som också genomför nyhetsbevakning i sin undervisning.

The aim of the project is to create a didactic model that social studies teachers can use to teach news coverage.
News coverage is a common activity in social studies education where teachers and students first cover the news
and then talk about them. The model will help teachers to plan news coverage in order to strengthen students'
understanding of the political responsibility that often hides behind the news covered. This understanding can
help students to take a stand on political decisions and how they are complied. The model will be developed as a
collaboration between researchers and teachers at two schools. Together, they will first develop a didactic model
that is coherent and relevant enough to work as a prototype for planning news coverage that can develop an
understanding of political responsibility among the students. The model will then be refined and made more
robust and adaptable through planning by participating teachers with the support of the researchers. This
planning is then transformed into teaching to investigate if the model leads to actual news coverage being carried
out within reasonable resources, and allows the students to develop a more nuanced and coherent understanding
of political responsibility. Within the scope of the project, the transferability of the model and how it can be used
more widely by social studies teachers outside the project who carry out news coverage in their teaching is also
investigated.
